As we age, bone density, muscle strength and flexibility decreases.  Seniors are also more susceptible to develop  certain health issues.  Research has shown exercise and strength training is essential for people of all ages, but especially so as we age. Many of our clients are comprised of individuals who are in their 50's, 60's and 70's.    The obvious benefit of personal training for seniors is to keep your weight in check.  But that is just the beginning.  Physical exercise when performed on a regular basis can reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke.  Increased physical activity can also assist in creating better flexibility, strength, and improved posture.

Clients have experienced additional benefits through personal training with The FirmU, most notably a reduction or elimination in the amounts of medication they take, this is especially true for the treatment of high blood pressure and diabetes. 

Some seniors mistakenly believe exercise may be dangerous for them.  However, it is perfectly safe for the majority of older people to exercise.  Of course, you must check with your healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program.

Personal training programs at The FirmU are personalized for each clients needs, goals, and fitness levels.  They will take the time to explain the benefits of each exercise and ensure you perform the exercises in a safe, effective manner.
